Frederick,MD | did check them out. just wanted to see if anyone had bought from ikea. went to mattress wharehouse and sleepys,,,,but I am not paying 2000 for a mattress that is marked up anywhere from 200 to 400 percent. but thanks anyway. |

1 edit | A good mattress is expensive, any high markups are due to low volume. I personally tried ikea mattresses and wasn't too happy but you should test it out yourself.

Yes, foam mattresses have pretty good insulative qualities. No big deal if you don't sleep warm, but if you do, a foam mattress will cause you to sleep even warmer and could make you uncomfortable.
Some of the places I've been to will try to sell you some sort of cotton mattress pad to go on top of the foam mattress. They claim it helps reduce the heat, and it probably does, but I couldn't help but notice that this add-on increases the price tag, too, anywhere from $30 to $50.
That probably explains why I still sleep on a cheap-ass futon. |
