Re: What A Rip-Off....$267 For Gas Tank Filler Neck?

I know it's too late to help out now, but give Dom's Auto Parts (»www.domsauto.com/) out near Bowmanville a try whenever you need parts. I don't see a filler neck for your RAV4 listed in their parts list, but you never know.

They usually sell them cheap and working (when my Corolla's blower fan died, they sold me one undamaged from a wrecker for $30 versus the $250 Toyota wanted new... it works fine), and will also give you advise on how to change the parts and so forth.

They're my go-to guys for car parts.

I hope they are not like Standard Auto Wreckers from Pickering whom every single time have sold me a part that doesn't work, including a A/C compressor which I shipped overseas and had to pay $60 for a courier to bring it back and another $60 to ship a working one. Last time they sold me a non-functioning master control switch.

I aint buying that at all... what is cheaper than salt to use then?
A sand and fine gravel mix.

Used a lot around here as it's cheap and besides the salt loses it's effectiveness at the very cold temperatures we sometimes get.

Works very well. Very effective at improving traction on icy roads. Downside is the obvious spring street cleanup required.
It snows like 25 times each winter in Edmonton, do you end up with 20 inches of sand and dirt in your city in April? Where does all that accumulated sand/gravel go?
