Re: What A Rip-Off....$267 For Gas Tank Filler Neck? I just got a charcoal canister for an '05 Avalon... $334 dealer list. I didn't care since my used car warranty covered the repair.
Many Toyota stores sell OEM parts online for at least 20% off list, sometimes even better. -- Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go home and have a heart attack. |

You could be looking for a very specific part with a narrow usage. -- A silent weapon for a quiet war. |

 | reply to Mentat said by Mentat:For a part as integral as a seat belt, why would you even want a used or aftermarket one? A brand new, unused seat belt is worth whatever its price IMO. The only thing it does is protect your life, so why cut corners? Does it really make a difference if the original expensive seat belt with a capacity of 4,000 lb pull resistance is replaced with an aftermarket seat belt with a capacity of 2,800 lb pull? You only weigh about 200 lbs anyways. |

 | reply to Xstar_Lumini Did you know that in a 40mph crash, an infant exerts about 3800lbs of inertial force against its restraints when the vehicle suddenly stops? You bet those seatbelts need to be able to handle inertial forces dozens of times your body weight in a crash. |

| reply to Xstar_Lumini Your price obstacle is due to Canadian import duties and transportation costs, more likely than not. Years ago when I was involved in Allied Material Handling, I was amazed at the differences between U.S. and Canadian list prices. Don't blame the dealer, they pay more too. |
