But it can still pocket dial because the clothes aren't thick enough to keep the phone from touching your skin.
It's not just the iphone, it's every single new smartphones. -- I found the key to success but somebody changed the lock. |

It partially responds to my finger with my tshirt over it. -- Don't hate OS X users because of YOUR poor choice in an OS.. |

Re: [Rant] Iphones really suck!! so is it the iPhone that is a "fucking piece of trash" and should be "smashed".. or is it your friend? -- Don't hate OS X users because of YOUR poor choice in an OS.. |

 | reply to Dude111 I think I found a video of your friend buying her iPhone, or at least someone who sounds and acts a lot like you describe.
Here it is and maybe her too:

This isn't a flaw with the iphone, as all non-flip phones have this problem. It is a problem with the user being dumb. iPhone buttons will not be pressed by anything other than a human touch. Her lipstick touching the phone screen will do nothing, locked or unlocked. False, anything conductive, not just your skin, has the ability to manipulate a capacitive touch screen. |

Unless you consider the copper-penny I just used to disprove your statement as non-conductive.. lol, you do understand that the sensitivity is going to be optimized for your skin, and not hard metals, yes? A copper penny will work on many devices, and some not, because of differences in the sensitivity of the screens. Copper itself would work fine if you can get enough of the material to contact the screen. This is the problem with using a penny, because it is hard (not soft like your skin), and does not conform to the screen. There are plenty of other things to try that do work with the iPhone iPod/touch's screen though, foil is one, as I made my own "touch pen" for my iPod touch using foil. If you understand the basic functionality of a capacitive touch screen, you'll understand why this is true. -- Asus P5N-E SLI|Q6600|2 GB DDR2 800|2x8800GT SLI|X-Fi Elite Pro|Hauppauge PVR-150MCE|Win7|Sony Vaio VGN-CR290|Embarq 5000/768|Netgear WGR614v8 |

Point is, his honey should be SMASHED!!! Ok, I will revise it since you want to get technical. Any CONDUCTIVE MATERIAL can manipulate a capacitive touch screen. Yes, the size, shape, and physical characteristics of the actual OBJECT being used can affect the effectiveness of it's use, that's a pretty obvious one (soft skin vs hard metal). If you want to say that only human flesh works, you are simply 100% wrong. I'm not sure what else to tell you. |

The circle black button is resistive, it can be touched by anything along with the sleep button on the top. Other than that, your lipstick or a pencil shouldn't do anything to it. -- I found the key to success but somebody changed the lock. |
