That is what the Comcast site shows for our area, keep in mind they haven't finished the D3 and line work here yet, and until they do we won't be offered the higher end tiers. We have D3 here in the Ukiah and Redwood Valley areas, I'm not sure if they've finished the Willits or Fort Bragg areas.

I'm on Blast! here in Redwood Valley, and this is what I'm currently seeing-

I updated the topic title and added a 10-31-2011 update to the bottom of the first post due to info in the little bird whispers category.

See bottom of this post ---> »Blast-If you have 22/2-22/4-27.5/4 provisioning, post here

That's terrific! Not only are you getting more speed, but it looks like marketing finally figured out the difference between provisioned speed and PowerBoost speed! It's great when departments within a giant company communicate.

I hope this new knowledge spreads across the country and ends up on their website as well.

Re: Portland, OR

It's pretty cute that they "announced" that, but Blast has been 25/4 in Portland (even on D2) since at least the spring.

The first post in this topic reflects 20/4 arrived as early as 2010. I haven't seen any reports on this since then until now. If you knew of the upgrade to 25/4 and reported that here, I didn't see your post.

This differentiation between provisioned and PB speeds is a new thing from marketing, however. I do hope this advertising honesty continues and spreads to all markets.

If you check the two reports there, please notice the most recent one claims the download provisioned speed has been bumped up since the first report was made here.

Here are the links to both reports:

The first I saw mention of it is in earletp's post in February, though that was a month or so before it kicked in for me. For about the first three months of the year I was stuck on 20/2, even though they swore it should be 20/4, and then it magically switched to 25 (or 24-25) with 5 up once I stopped wondering about it.

Maybe they're under promising and over delivering? Maybe once they officially go 25/4 it'll mean something even higher in reality, like most of this year.

Definitely good to hear that they're clarifying PowerBoost a little.

Looks like we got the "new" 25/4 here now too. However I believe we had 25/4 since june... is it just a new provisioned rate? I see it mentioned as 27500 what was it before? 26000?

See your post in June ---> »Carol Stream, IL

...is it just a new provisioned rate?

It is advertised as 25/4 provisioned, but the actual provisioning is always a little higher than what is advertised.

See this in the first post in this topic:

10-31-2011:

Little Bird Update hints:
22/4.4 still exists in some markets. Right now we're in transitional period moving everyone who was on 22/2.2 & 22/4.4 to 27.5/4.4

I am told I now have 27.5/4.4 provisioning.

I try to get all updates of which I am aware into that post.

Oh so I had 27500 since June but this is just for the people who were still on 22 are finally getting 25.
I guess I got confused.

It is easy to get confused when you can't see the exact provisioning in your modem status pages and the Comcast website usually doesn't advertise the actual provisioned speeds. We're fortunate to get a whisper now and then from someone who actually knows. That helps us sort it out.

Also, shaper probe does seem to get you close to knowing, as long as everything is working well with your connection and there is no issue between you and the test server.

Thought I still had Ultra 22mbps, but after switching to d3 modem I'm now on Blast

Estimating capacity:
Upstream: 4928 Kbps.
Downstream: 30122 Kbps.

Checking for traffic shapers:

Upstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 4816 Kbps.

Downstream: Burst size: 8610-8857 KB;
Shaping rate: 26058 Kbps.

I see upstream of 5mb/s which matches what Shaperprobe says.

On the other hand I only see 20mb/s after 30mb/s boost for downstream despite what shaper probe shows.

So 20/5 is what I got. Hopefully I'll be seeing some changes, being not far from Seattle.

Does Comcast San Jose supply 30Mbps downspeed and 6Mpbs upspeed for the blast users now ?

30/6 is 25/4 with powerboost added. So sustained is not 30/6

I tried the 30/6 speed, but with my power boost and D3 cable modem,
it is still 25/4. Comcast San Jose still keeps the same 25/4 for
the blast users ????

Comcast just lit up Docsis 3 in Sonora, CA a couple days ago, blast! appears to be ~27/4:

ShaperProbe Sonora Blast!

blast is being marketed (currently) as 20/2. For now, I'll trust the boot file that the CMTS sends my modem over marketing.

Also it's basically a virgin network up here (I'm most likely the first person on this particular node to have HSI, no joke), once more people get online things could change.

DOCSIS 3.0 was finally deployed to me yesterday. I'm pleasantly baffled that I'm getting shaped at 30/5 and everyone else seems to be getting 27/5. This doesn't make sense to me but I'm not complaining!

Upstream: No shaper detected.
Median received rate: 5301 Kbps.

Downstream: Burst size: 10049-10372 KB;
Shaping rate: 30912 Kbps.

EDIT: After performing a sustained transfer test, my speed never levels out and my monitor is averaging 3.2 MB/s which equates to 25-26mbps. This is the first time ShaperProbe was inaccurate for me.
