Re: WIN Yeah, they gave it a top rating and then said they could not recommend the product for purchase, due to the design flaw.
From the Consumer Reports web site:
"It's official. Consumer Reports' engineers have just completed testing the iPhone 4, and have confirmed that there is a problem with its reception. When your finger or hand touches a spot on the phone's lower left sidean easy thing, especially for leftiesthe signal can significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you're in an area with a weak signal. Due to this problem, we can't recommend the iPhone 4."

In other words, IT'S DEFECTIVE. Just because YOU don't have the problem doesn't mean it is nonexistent. Furthermore, your "actually own it" argument is a completely moot point. CR had the phone on the bench, tested it, and found that due to the problems with the design, they could not recommend it.
End of story man, so get over it.
You LOSE, you get NOTHING, GOOD DAY SIR.
With that, I'm punching out. I've got more important things to do on a Friday night like get drunk & get some poo-ha than banter endlessly with mindless Apple robots on the Intertubes.
Good night, FANBOI. Continue to make a horse's ass of yourself here responding to every post that has the least bit of criticism and relish the fact that a lot of people are laughing at you through their computer screens.
BTW, I'm no Apple hater by any stretch. I'm posting from my Mac right now.... -- Petty people are disproportionally corrupted by petty power |

said by CR : CR's Take A high-scoring, versatile, and innovative smart phone that performs even better than its 3G S predecessor. A very good choice for multimedia addicts--and even corporate users. We can't recommend the just-released iPhone 4 until Apple comes up with a permanent--and free--fix for the antenna problem we confirmed during testing.
So yeah, they don't recommend it, but they say it's a very good choice that performs better than the 3GS which they did recommend. -- "Our goal (was to make) a billion phones Flash-enabled by 2010...We're actually going to get 1 billion Flash-enabled phones by 2009." -Adobe Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch in Nov 2008. |

 | reply to N3OGH I could care less what any of your opinions are. Trying to make a point on here is like attempting to argue with a two-year old. I bought an iphone and it works perfectly for me. Therefore, for me, I am 100% satisfied. As long as my experience remains above expectations with Apple products, I will continue to buy them and be happy no matter what you fools or the media say. Enough said. |

Damn, that kind of experience/admission makes you a fanboi, jobber........and the target of bloggers and haters. ... Oh, and you are a LIAR as well....because, gawd forbid, some owners *do not* have the problem |

| That's not the problem. The phone works fine for people, they adapt and they don't have any problem or whatever it may be. The real case here is that fanboys insist there's no problem AT ALL when there ARE people out there with problems expecting a phone they paid good money for what is somewhat defective.
Then was the case for people who wanted to return the phone but still ended up losing some money over the restocking fee for a defective product. It is nice that Apple set out to not charge people the fee now after it's too late for the number of customers out there. -- Filled with magic and pixie dust |

Just that they should either get the free bumper or return it and buy something else.. that's all. |
