[Rave] Gillette Fusion ProGlide

I was out of Fusion blades so I added them to my shopping list for Wal-Mart today. Got to Wal-Mart and saw that the ProGlide was out. I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did. Coupled with using the free face wash that came with it, this is the closest shave I think I've ever had. I normally have problems with the neck-hairs. I usually have to have in 4 directions to get a close shave on my neck. And then I end up looking like a slasher victim. Not with the ProGlide. One shot and my neck was smooth. I went again in the opposite direction just to be safe but I really don't think it was needed.

So I'm hooked on the ProGlide now. Too bad I need a second mortgage to buy the blades...

My local CVS sells a 4 pack of those blades for $18. It'll be a cold day in hell before I pay that much for razor blades.

That's what Wal-Mart here is charging for the 4-pack. And with my coarse hair I go through a blade a week.

I went to buy M3 power blades and they were $20. last time i
bought was them it was around 10. I think Gillette has
doubled the prices on their blades. I would like to upgrade to
the ProGlides but I might try Schick. i see their blades are
cheaper.

Not sure if I feel comfortable buying blades off a guy on ebay -- anyone else have links to a good place for buying blades?

Look for them on Amazon and see what the 'other sellers' are pricing them at.

I've heard of counterfeit blades being sold through ebay and amazon sellers... I'm sure it's not terribly common, but something to consider.

I bought a stack of them through drugstore.com because they had a buy 3 get 1 free, plus a coupon made it less expensive.

I never used one of those brushes... I was thinking of getting one and that machine that warms up the shaving cream.

Here is a good deal for getting some blades cheap. Walgreens has a current offer of spend $25 in select shaving items (ProGlide included) and get $10 in register rewards. If you aren't familiar the register reward is basically a $10 coupon on your next purchase at the store. They sell the 8-pack blades for $33.99. Go buy a pack, get $10 coupon. Go back later that day (hell just go through the line again 2 minutes later) and get another 8-pack for only $23.99. 16 blades for $57.98, ~$3.62/blade. Compared to ~$4.50/blade when buying the 4-pack that's a damn good deal.

Note: Offer may only be valid at the Walgreens stores in my region (midwest). Best to enter your own zip code and look at the weekly ads for your area.
