FWIW, any company asking you to do the "credit check" are scammers. that freecreditreport site is likely fake as well.

Applied for a position with YLD Corp, got pretty much the same email in response as the ones previously posted, except that I noticed they changed the name of the credit reporting sight with each email and the name of the HR representative is different with each one. It was blatantly obvious from the initial email it was a scam of some sort but I replied just to see what the response would be. No way did I go to the credit reporting sight, just made up a credit score. When you look at the YLD website it's obvious they're not real. Everything on the website reads in a very odd manner, there are grammatical errors that NO company would make on their website!

Also, the initial email I sent them had my resume pasted in it (which has my phone number, address, etc)...what are the odds my personal information is now in danger?! I have a Master's degree for crying out loud, I just want a job, stupid scammers!!!

The 'ai=10807' part is probably an affiliate ID or something similar.

I wonder if keycreditreport is aware of their affiliate's actions?

I think it's a legit [or about as legit as these people can get without being »www.annualcreditreport.com ] 'free credit report' site with rogue 'affiliates'. In a perfect world, I'd like to see them all shut down, but this world is far from perfect.

In this less-than-perfect world, I'll settle for the goal of chasing these fools off of craigslist or wherever they pop up next, or [better yet] seeing them nabbed by the FTC. I'm extremely irritated that people are taking advantage of the unemployed and underemployed in the middle of the worst recession in 70 years.

I'm wondering:

1. Is there a way to contact the parent 'credit report' site?

2. If there is a way to contact them and if someone does contact them, will they do anything about the deceptive tactics of their rogue affiliate[s]?

If the parent site responds positively to requests to shut down rogue affiliates, we could set up an unofficial arrangement like that seen in another thread here with 1shoppingcart and the fake discount merchandise sites.

Since I just took a nice ride through the convoluted redirects of one of the PIV ads, let's try it with YLD [safeandfreecreditreport].

I'm not going to repeat the 5 or so redirects here unless someone requests it, but they lead through go2jump and eventually land at media303.com/z/27633/CD20515/&subid1=20 , cookies are set and a script runs.
