| [Poll] Why don't people wash their hands after taking a dump?
I was reading in the local newspaper about personal hygiene and the numbers just made me sick. They were doing studies and only 27% of men and 28% of women wash their hands after doing their shit or whatever (like maybe a piss or something). The numbers jump to about 40% for healthcare workers and 69% of doctors. Really, so my doctor is touching me with crap on his hands, maybe? What the hell? So, this leads to this weeks Canadian Chat Poll.
Poll Do you wash your hands after using the bathroom |

Should be interesting to see the numbers here. My guess we'll be getting close to 90% saying YES and the other 10% being smart and saying that it adds taste to their food.
I through with my rant. And I always, always wash my hands after a piss or a shit and whatever nasty body functions happen. -- This message was composed using 100% post-consumer recycled electrons, please recycle responsibly. I was once in a restaurant where one of the kitchen staff was taking dump and walked out without washing his hands. I went back to our table, called our server over, cancelled our order for food and asked for the bill for our drinks. The owner/manager (never did ascertain which) asked why and when I told him, he was shocked and tried to get us to stay with an offer of free food. I have never returned to that place, nor will I. -- The thoughts expressed in the above post are those of the poster, and can only be attributed to his state of mind at the time of posting. | reply to jeffster1970 Who remembers that Seinfeld episode where Jerry goes into this restaurant and Jerry uses the washroom and out walks the Chef without washing his hands, pulling up his zipper and fiddles with his hair. After that we see the chef making Jerry's pizza, hands and all, and he brings the pizza over to Jerry and refuses to eat it - he just shakes his head no. That one was funny. -- This message was composed using 100% post-consumer recycled electrons, please recycle responsibly. Composed and sent with Mac OS X... because windows sucks. | reply to Kardinal I remember reading a study. A grocery store is literally infected with feces, the worst was the shopping carts! I wash my hands at least 20 times a day, of course every time I got to the bathroom. If you just stand at a public bathroom you would be surprised how many guys don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom. |

| reply to jeffster1970 I do it always after taking a dump.
Going pee? Not 100% of the time. You do realize urine is sterile?
Now, if you've got black drip or festering herpes sores then yeah, you might want to lather up. -- "It's all coming down!!" - Mike Holmes |

| reply to Kardinal said by Kardinal :I have never returned to that place, nor will I. Wow, that's pretty gross.
I had a similar situation at the Mandarin. I was in the waiting area, and from where I was sitting I could see behind the bar. One waitress put some stuff in the garbage, but the can was full. So she used her hands to force it in and push down on the garbage to avoid having to change it. Then, without washing her hands, she turned around and started cutting lemons for everyone's water, then mixed a few drinks, etc.
My table asked for water without lemon, and I haven't been back there (not that the food is good anyway). |

  Fecal Matter

| reply to jeffster1970 I remember a report on this (fecal matter) from last year when some hard hitting stomach flu thing was going around. The cause was due to fecal matter.
They conducted tests (swabs) of restaurants and all the other public places.
Worse offender on the list with the highest amount of fecal matter was... drum roll... Bars/restaurants serving drinks.
All the veggies or sliced fruit going into drinks (or hanging off the side of the glass) were the things most loaded with fecal matter.
Now this doesn't look good for bar tenders and waiters/waitresses/busboys who help slice that celery stick or piece of lime. |

| People who don't wash their hands make me sick....
One day I was in our work wash room and I hear a bloke in the near stall.... From the grunts and sounds he was making you knew he wasn't doing number 1...
Out of the stall comes one of our executives. He steps to the wash basin and looks in the mirror, fixes his hair & smiles to me that he is off to flip burgers & cook some hot dogs for an employee Charity lunch.... Then leaves the washroom without turning on the tap or washing his hands...
I was glad I packed my own lunch that day....
From that day forward I always looked at that person in a different light.... |

| reply to jeffster1970 I never stop washing my hands except when I sleep. I go to the sink and start washing them when I wake up and then keep washing them until I go back to bed.
You people that do any less make me sick. If I could find a way to wash them while I was asleep I would. |
