| Blackberry 8330
Hey all, I have a blackberry 8330 with the latest update of both the firmware and software(both on the phone and computer). My problem is that i did an update on my service via the service(it was required for all phones), and after that my internet browser did not show up on my phone. Also my gps does not work due to the fact that it tells me that i do not have that capability, yet my service plan includes internet and GPS. Could my problem be service related or just a malfunction? |

| It would probably help to know who your provider is.
From my very limited BB experience, looks like you lost your BB account status - that seems to control whether the BB-specific features appear.
You need to call the BB support line and have your "service books" sent to your phone.
Do you have BIS and/or BES on your account? If not, you may experience trouble getting them to send the update to your phone. |

1 edit | reply to ajlong Was this an official carrier/RIM update? First register your phone on the network (see »www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.d···=KB00510), then resend your service books via your carriers BIS site.
Common BIS sites: Sprint »https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=sprint Verizon »https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw AT&T »https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular T-Mobile »https://my.t-mobile.com/Login/Default.aspx

BIS stands for Blackberry Internet Service, it's the package you need to subscribe to through your carrier for most of your BB features to work. It's typically around $30 a month on top of your service plan, and most carriers require you to subscribe to it before they activate your phone. |
