Any *nix experts out there in compiling drivers?

Asking for support with an open source project here due to not having the hardware to troubleshoot this on.

»www.fogproject.org (free open source ghosting)

We are looking to PXE boot a new NIC but have run into a few roadblocks in the process.

I'm asking here to see if anyone happens to have the time to compile a new kernel / bzimage for us who has the Atheros AR8132 chipset on a netbook.

Without the hardware I have no way of diagnosing / testing / etc.

I know it's a long shot but does someone happen to have a bit of time to help out?

Below are a few threads that cover the issue

We need a bzimage to load due to this TFTP booting.

Thanks in advance!

Do-it-yourself kernel compiling isn't hard.

Even so, there's other options. Many distros (centos and/or fedora qualify) have pre-built PXE-bootable images. Use pxelinux as your TFTP bootloader, use vmlinuz/initrd provided by the distro, an HTTP server to serve the installation DVD contents, and boot in rescue mode. A bit of a hassle for first time setup, but the same system allows for PXE installation, memtest86 can be run this way, etc.

That's odd...
