| [Auto] Danica reportedly close to racing for Earnhardt
Now this addition to NASCAR would bring a whole new dimension to the racing world. I hope she decides to join.
Patrick would run for Little Es Nationwide team when not racing in IRL Danica Patrick is close to a two-year deal to race for Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s NASCAR Nationwide team, ESPN reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed source close to the talks. Why is it that people who never pay attention to the weather are always the first to complain.

There are already plenty of mediocre and overrated drivers in racing. Ironically, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of them. -- This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper. |

| reply to ghostpainter There will be plenty of attention paid and she will probably sell some tickets at Nationwide races. She will have good equipment from JRM and HMS. She will have to prove her driving skills on the track. Coming in to NASCAR without having paid dues and honed skills in stock car racing will not be easy. There a several examples of recent NASCAR drivers coming in from open wheel and showing only moderate to little success. The notable exception is Juan Pablo Montoya. He was a proven championship driver in CART, consistent F1 top five driver, Indy 500 winner, and currently 4th in championship points in NASCAR's premier series, Sprint Cup. Patrick's resume is no where close to Montoya's.
I will probably see her drive in person twice next year. She will drive her Indy car at Newton, Iowa next year and will most likely drive a Nationwide car at Newton next year if she signs with JRM. The JRM team won the Nationwide race at Newton this year with Brad Kesolowski, who will be a full time Sprint Cup driver with Penske next year. I don't think Patrick will get Keselowski's car. -- Save water...drink beer! -- Democrats don't mind raising taxes because democrats don't pay taxes. |
