Before I get Rogers (if need be) to get me the latest standard, I have 2 cables left over I could use for a hdtv I'm testing.
wire 1: CATV20 AWG wire 2: CATV CSA LL82959
Would there be a noticeable loss in picture quality using any of these wires? Should I not even bother calibrating the tv using these cables or is the new standard just more of a longer lasting, better insulation etc.... deal?
What is the proper code (CATV....) of today's cables anyways? |

2 edits | Shiat, these must be older than sbrook. There is NO mention of RG anything, on these cables! Guess I'll make the trek to RadioShack to pick some up, eh? |

| reply to pulp39 if your going from HD Box to TV, you want to AVOID using Coaxial Cables, you must use either a RCA Component & Audio L+R Cables, so 5 wires in total, or a HDEMI Cable to the TV from your SET TOP Box, otherwise you will be watching TV Broadcasts in Standard Definition. |

| Thanks pulp ... I'm as old as my bones and a little older than my teeth!
The one labelled LL is supposedly RG6 standard, where the 20AWG is probably RG59 standard.
The lack of RG labelling is just a matter of the manufacturer's choice ... particularly when made offshore. |

sbrook Premium,Mod join:2001-12-14 H0H 0H0 | Is the one labelled with LL a fatter cable than the one with 20AWG? If not, then it's probably RG59 quality too! |

| reply to pulp39 i just noticed some of the wires that came with my older stb are rg59.. but all the new stbs i bought in the recent have RG6.
to solve this, i just went to the roger's store and told them the wires were giving me problems or making te picture fuzzy and they replaced it and gave me the newer thicker ones.

Go to home depot and get RG-6 and compression PPC fittings. Or make life easier. Go to your local office and get some new jumpers. |

| reply to pulp39 I thought Rogers gives you small cable lengths for nothing? I went to the nearest Rogers Plus store and exchanged my old one and they gave me a new one which was RG6, I also had the TV Technician make me a cable wire for the other room at no charge. |
