1 edit | Average loop stats for 3 Megabit speeds
I currently have the 1.5Mb service. It has been great, but I am going on 5 years with no speed improvements available. I believe I am connected directly to the CO, but am not sure. To qualify for the 3 Megabit package what is the max loop length? I know there are many more factors than that, but I am just curious. Currently my SNR is 33 and my local attenuation is 28 and my remote attenuation is 19, but I am unsure of my loop length. Speaking to a local qwest tech in the area he thinks my neighborhood should qualify for the 3Mb speeds, but it needs to be tested and then updated in the database. I know there are a lot of variables, but does anybody have similar line stats with 3+Mb speeds? Thanks. |

The issue may be if a higher speed is available in that area. Your loop length (based on 28 db atten) is approximately around ~6500 to 6700 feet. |

It looks like you're less than 3500 ft away from your DSLAM based on that attenuation. Being that close, your line should be able to support speeds well over 12 meg, provided that you were moved to an ADSL2+ capable DSLAM. And with Quest using VDSL in some areas, probably much higher speeds than that. |
