That's OK. My G5 hasn't been too happy with Flash since I upgraded to v10. I keep getting slow script messages. If that happened on my iPhone it would be a nightmare.

exactly. adobe has become so bloated over the last decade that it's software isn't that great to have anymore. if my iphone got hosed like my blackberry would and i'd have to restart my phone often because of that, then screw flash.

I know it's a well-trodden subject in here. Just thought I'd post the link for interest. I think it's amusing personally.

Adobe can live on my iPhone as soon as I can watch any online video on my Macs with less than 80% CPU utilization.

If Silverlight can do it...

I'd like Silverlight long before horrible Flash.

Let Adobe create a properly functioning version of Flash for the desktop Mac, before they cry about Apple not including the bloated bs onto the iPhone.

When my Macbook's fans go crazy and cpu speed jumps 100% when simple web ads play, my iPhone would probably self-ignite and burn down.

Flash hasn't become bloated, animation designers bloated their scripts and their vector graphics since they design and test everything on hex-core Xeons/Opterons. If they were required to make the flash applet fluid on an 800 mhz Pentium 3, then most phones would be able to do flash easily, and older computers would work much longer before turning into e-waste.

Flash isn't a whole lot better on Windows. I despise how widespread it is.

Much better on windows... But if it "feels" bloaty there, pity us Mac users.

the only thing good about flash is to make fun of linux users for not being able to play flash in fullscreen.

silverlight is infinitely better

netflix silverlight streaming 60C
youtube flash streaming 80C

What exactly are you doing with Flash and your browser that requires more then 2GB of memory?

I have 8GB, but I can't see a need for a browser to use more than 2GB. In other words, a 64-bit browser and 64-bit Flash is pointless and offers no advantages over a 32-bit browser.

Well if you're using a 64 bit browser like in Linux then you must use 64 bit plugins unless you're using a wrapper. Wrappers can be buggy and problematic sometimes so native is always best.

Right, but why bother using a 64-bit browser in the first place when the 32-bit browser works perfectly fine and has access to more than enough address space?
