I am a Met fan but still take pride in the fact that the best team in baseball is in NY.
The Yankees spent a great deal of money but they spent wisely. It's nice to see the old home grown core of Jeter, Pettite, Posada and Rivera win again. Jeter and Rivera have blue Yankee blood and I think Posada does as well. Pettite left but came back. Jeter and Rivera will both go to the hall of fame and will retire as Yankees. Posada was a five time all star and finished 3rd and 6th in MVP voting during his career. Despite his age he is putting up nice numbers. He will also retire as Yankee and has a chance at Copperstown.
Congratulations to the Yankees and the Steinbrenners for trying to win the championship every year. Anything short of a world series is a disappointment for the Yankees. The Mets seem content to field a competitive team. The Yankees are so deep they are debating getting rid of Damon or Matsui.

| I have to say the phillies matched their talent.. The Yankees were better coached and their pitchers pitched better and their man guys hit better in this WS.. I don't follow much baseball but regardless of the money the yankees deserve the WS because the phillies are no joke
