Hi
I have Samsung lcd model (LA40S81B) Since 2 years , Last 2 weeks when I Turn it on it take 5 minutes to go on.
But this days it take more than one hour to turn on.
So, is it easy to fix it ? and how ?

1 edit | I had the exact same problem with a e-machine flat screen LCD monitor had to leave it on about two hours before it would light up, replaced all the capacitors, after doing this, it now works great no waiting , but not familiar with your model of monitor. |

Maybe take it apart and look for leaky or bulging caps... Take some pics and upload so we can help you determine... |

You may want to see if it is still under warranty. I had some Samsungs with bad power supplies that were still covered under a 3 year warranty.

it will fail soon due to bad CAPS
my monitor lasted 4 years before the caps went 100% bad (much longer the the typical 13months for the model Gateway FPD2185w Samsung OEM panel)
i am getting it repaired for 75$ conserdering it cost 300 for a similar screen of the same specs
the new 5 ms screens are crap on the viewing angle (even if they say 178 x 178) |

I check all the capacitors in the main board
I found 4 caps look bad , It become bigger from the top the specification is for the orgenal cap is (1000 mf 10v 105c) .
but when I look in to the market I found (1000mf 16v 105c) so I replace it by my self
the cost for 4 caps 3$
and now it works good no waiting like before
