well its been a year since i last complained about how bad the connection in mcmaster area, across from main, is. It was fantastic for a while, immediately after my last complaint no less, but sadly its gone to shit again. I have the premium 16mb/s package and have never, not once, since turning it on this school year achieved that speed or anything close to that. Even when checked at 7am its only 2mb/s, ridiculous for what i pay. Peak hours i would expect slower speeds, but getting speeds of abound 200kb/s is outragously slow at 70$ a month.
Cogeco service sucks, save your money and go with someone else. |

| reply to Peter Tsch You might be confusing mbps with mb/s. Cogeco offers a 16mbps download rate BUT that doesn't mean you download 16mb/s. If you go to a mbps to mb/s converter online you get:
16 Mbps = 120.00 MB/min = 2.00 MB/s = 16.00 Mbps = 1.91 MiB/s = 7.20 GB/h
So you're actually getting the maxed out speed. It's just your confusion with terms that's the problem, I thought the same thing too when I first got HSI. |

MB/s (bytes) != Mbps
You should get around 2MB/s and 16Mb/s
p = per.
And yes, 2mb/s is pretty bad - Can't get DSL? |

@cgocable.net | reply to Peter Tsch unfortunately cogeco is the only provider in my area... There is one run by engineering students but... i dunno |
