| reply to Trel Re: What's a good pair of slippers?
I used to go through slippers quickly. Then, about two years ago, I bought a pair of Sanuk shoes. I say "shoes" because they look like loafers, but even the company says they're not shoes.
Absolutely the most comfortable slippers I've ever owned. They are mostly used indoors, but I occasionally will wear them outside to pick up the newspaper, put out trash, etc.

| reply to Trel If you're looking for cushioning I think that basically anything you buy is going to go flat on the bottoms long before the rest of the footwear wears out. I don't wear slippers and opt instead for just socks around the house but what i do with sneakers is just replace the insoles regularly with either Gel or memory foam insoles which you can find in any target or walmart. Some are thin and basically just designed to go over the existing ones and others you remove the existing ones. For my sneakers I find the memory foam ones work best for all the walking I do and every 6 mos. or so I replace them. Perhaps for slippers one of the flat gel inserts might work well for you.
It's a much more cost effective way of approaching this I think and lets you get a lot more life out of the rest of the footwear. -- The Coyote captured the RR! Roadrunner Rick is now Comcastic! |

| reply to Trel I can't get behind any that have any kind of hard sole. If you slapped the bottom on a table, does it make a loud noise, or a soft noise? I want to be able to walk around silently in them.

| reply to Trel For years I bought the fuzzy lined leather moccasins at Walmart, but then they changed the sizing and none fit so I went to L. L. Bean and picked up a similar pair there for $38. Two years later and they're stilll going strong. -- "While you can teach an old dog new tricks, you simply can't teach him to be a cat."

| reply to Trel My favorite slippers are by Island Pro... »www.balsabill.com/IslandSlippers.htm ...I prefer the Blackthorns and can say with experience that they fit in well with all situations... job interviews, funerals, beach parties, workouts, weddings, etc.
At just over $30, they may seem expensive... but they tend to last me at least 2 years. Not bad, I think. -- My Site |

One more little perk: with a LLBean visa card account, you get free shipping, and free return shipping, if needed. I was looking in my catalog and they look like they are very nice price is a little more then I would pay but I wanted some first hand reviews. -- It's NOT Ni-kon It's NE-KON!
