I've gone through many slippers and no matter how much cushining I get, they always seem to go very flat long before the rest of it wears out. Can anyone recommend a good pair of slippers? -- /chown -R us:us /yourbase |

| reply to Trel I finally just bought a pair from REI last night. They are GREAT!

Technically these are not slippers, they are booties... but I fail to see any real difference.
If you want a very high quality slipper you are going to be spending $60-$80.
You can also buy good inserts for cushion.

| reply to Trel Crocs? You got to be kidding me. Those things are so FUGLY.
My vote is for Ugg Tasman. Pricey at $90 but they do double duty as a regular shoe. I'm going on year 2 with mine and they still look and feel like new.
And yes I'm a guy. Uggs started out as guy shoes so don't knock it until you try it. |

| reply to Trel There is a company called Russell Moccasin in Wisconsin that make custom slippers to the exact size of your feet. You actually make measurements and send them into the company.

I have had a pair for a long time and they are the best I have ever had. They last for ever, but are expensive. Like everything else... you get what you pay for. |

| reply to Trel I like Muk Luks or what are sometimes called sox slippers. They keep your feet warm, but breath, so your feet do not sweat and make them stinky.

| Those look like they could be good. And the price would not make me too upset at having to replace.
How good is the cushioning on these though?

1 edit | reply to Trel Probably all fleece lining (I assume that's what you mean by cushinging) is going to wear down eventually but I'd recommend real fleece instead of fake substitutes. And as someone else suggested, if you're going to wear fleece, wear socks with them. It will make the fleece stand up longer (no dirt or foot oder, etc.) Personally, I love my Minnetonka Moosehide slippers with hard bottoms and just wear socks when it gets too cold.

1 edit | reply to Trel I bought a pair at Walmart a month ago that I really like. They are called Spa Sensations, and cost $10 The tag said memory foam, and they are really squishy...I sink about a half inch when I put them on. No idea how they'll be after a year, but I have no problem buying a new pair every year. edit: So far they don't seem to be compressing at all. -- The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth |

Can anyone recommend a good pair of slippers? I think they have some $1,000 slippers at Neiman Marcus. They even have a soft silk lining inside. It also has a coat of arms or something on the front. |
