It's all about options. They get a different monitor, or you let the comp have them again. Tell them there is a reason why you are better and get lots of praise for your service, Your honest, know what your doing, and the baby monitor has to go. Take it or leave it. Split the difference or by them another one. |

The objective is...to block or absorb the signal to reduce its effective range.
BTW, aluminum foil makes great wallpaper. I used it to cover the walls of my radio room prior to sheetrocking (1/2 plywood, Al foil, sheetrock). I used Noalox (in the one gallon industrial size) with a paint roller to stick it to the plywood, half-lapped the foil on top of that...top and sides. Didn't do the floor, can't be blocking the gravity waves, you know!
I got the idea when building TEMPEST rooms for various projects. Bonded to a single-point ground grid...worked great! Nothing in or out unless I let it.
But I digress...

You need to borrow a small block of RF absorber material (that is good down to 900Mhz band ) from a nearby college RF lab. You can also buy if you would do this often - but prepare for sticker shock.
You just drill a hole for the dipole antenna, slip it on and gradually shave off enough material from the desired direction to make the indoor link. The datasheet will tell you dB loss per unit thickness at 900Mhz.  |

Seriously: 900 MHz is very, very easily messed up by consumer gear, especially since the Part 15 rules don't let you increase the EIRP when you use a higher gain antenna. Try another band. |

Yah! Finally got the customer to realize the problem was being caused by them. They turned off the monitor and "my internet came right up".
Persistance pays off. Thanks for all the advice.
