| Linksys WRT54GX firmware to Belkin F5D8230-4 - SUCCESS!
This is a follow up from this thread:

I had this Pre-N router for a long time and even though it was old and giving problems for so long, I finally decided to flash it with linksys firmware.

Here's the procedure I followed:
1. Reset router to factory default.
2. Open Linksys firmware with Hex Editor Neo

3. Change 00-2f-08-07 in first line to 00-2f-01-02. Save.
4. Belkin firmware upgrade page. Use the new firmware.
5. Login from 192.168.1.1. User/Password was blank.
That's it!! Now configure the router according to your needs. Everything seems to be working perfectly fine, including DHCP and DMZ (Tested so far).
If there are any other/better firmwares to test with this Pre-N router then do advice. |
