Big Ten Network Problems?

Is anyone in Mt. Laurel, NJ having problems viewing the BTN on channel 715? I get a Black screen. Also the Overflow channels come in but they have the BTN LOGO.

None of my Big 10 Channels worked today! I live in Cherry Hill, NJ, and Channel 715 was just black, and then 711, 712, 713, 714 all just had the Big 10 Logo. Whats going on here Comcast, are we getting this channel or not anymore?

The channels only show something when there is a game on.

I understand that, but why is my Channel 715, which is the main Big 10 Channel still just have a black screen for the past 2 weeks? There is always programming on that channel, whether there is a game or not. Are Comcast and the Big 10 Network having contractual problems like Versus and Direct TV, and that is why I am not getting any programming?

I'm still having the same problem this morning in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Ch. 715 (Black Screen & No Sound). Like "co" said the Main BTN channel should be on all day game or no game. Also went through all the channels and not that I care but I noticed along with channel 715 being Black these 2 local school channesl are also Black (Channels 950 & 951). "co' what kind of box are you using? I'm using an "CISCO RNG 200 HD-DVR box

You may have a signal problem. Have you called in to schedule a tech visit?

Big10 logo? Here those channels 801,802,803,804 show colorbars with a constant high pitched tone. What's that all about?

I'm still not able to view channel 715 (BTN) here in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Anyone else have this problem? and if so which SA/Cisco box are you using?

pjsbar,

I still don't get Channel 715 on my HD/DVR Box on my main tv. I just get a black screen.

But I checked my TV in my bedroom which is a standard digital box, and channel 715 comes in.

Maybe its a glitch in the HD boxes???

@comcast.net
Thank's "co" for the info. I'm having a tech come tomorrow morning. I'll tell you what results are. Also can you check to see if channels 97, 950 & 951 are coming in. These are useless channels but they are also "Black"

@comcast.net

Just an update-The Tech came this morning and did absolute "Nothing". He was on the phone with a few people from comcast and then he was telling me that the BTN is not part of the sports package it's like HBO - separate package which is hard to believe. He did notice that channels 711 thru 714 were coming through but only showing the BTN Logo. Then he say's to me it should come back in an hour. It's almost 4:00PM and channel 715 is still "Black".

Here you need to have Digital Classic (Preferred)to get BTN. I can't speak for your area but here BTN is NOT part of the Sports and Entertainment package.If you are subscribed to the right package (and you should be to get the overflow channels)it's odd to have a problem with just one channel.Ask for a new box.

@pjsbar The Cisco RNG-200 along with the other Cisco RNG boxes only have digital tuners in them. So the analog channels that are mapped to channels 98, 950, and 951 will only ever have a black screen on them.
I would recommend to have you check with your neighbors who subscribe to Digital Classic with contains BTN to see if it's working at their house or not since that tech seemed totally useless to you today.

Thank's for the info CableJack. I was thinking that also about channels 97, 950 & 951 being analog with the Cisco RNG 200 being an "All Digital Tuner" but channel 715 (BTN) is still Black. Is anyone else having problems channel 715 on comcast of Garden State using a HD-DVR box?

Same with me here in Cherry Hill, NJ, as my Channel 715 in working on my HD/DVR box in about 3 weeks. I didn't call a technican, it just came on earlier in the week.
