Because SONY DOESN'T OWN THE LICENSE TO BLU-RAY. How many times do we have to tell you this? Blu-Ray is simply a disc reading technology that was created by a consortium of companies. Sony was the first of them to really push it years ago, but they in no way own the technology. Sony doesn't exclusively make Blu-ray players and Sony's competitors are making BR players. That alone should make it stand to reason that Sony doesn't own the license. The only reason the PS3 is the only console with a Blu-Ray player is because Sony gambled on the technology and it paid off. Now that it's the high def standard the others will follow suite. So unless you have some real evidence proving Sony is the one and only patent owner of having BR in a gaming console stop claiming otherwise. Oh BTW NetFlix also announced that they will have their streaming service available on the new Wii 2 as well. Merry Christmas.

Back to topic which we have got off of because of some people in here. One of the bigger questions what else would the wii-2 have up it sleeve. Rumors like this can be true. IMO company's do this to get reaction from the public on stuff. i just bought my wii 2 weeks ago, im impressed. It might not match my ps3 or the 360 but it gets me off my ass and work for it.

And you will have to wait for "Official" releases until Nintendo decides to release the details of the Wii 2. That's how this news comes out. First the leaks then the official release. Happened with the PS3 and 360 price cuts. Happened with the PS3/Netflix connection. It's going to happen here.
