[Equipment] [cable/set-top box]Subscriber Owned Cable/Set-Top Bo

I have a Motorola DCT6200 series set-top that I purchased from Comcast when I was their sub following the FCC's mandate regarding making set-tops available to subs. When I requested Insight to activate it they stated flat-out that it was incompatible with their system before I could even give the model. I persisted with the exact model and that it is identical to the non-DVR HD set-up they currently put in the home but the CSR still insisted its incompatibility. What gives? We know it will work and so do they and even when they're required to sell boxes or cards they then play dumb. How can I get around this?

Im sure you know about this better then me, but I think there was something about the DCH, and DCT and the cards .. but maybe im wrong. Im just guessing.

Maybe check into that, as to why they say that, but you say yours is a DCT6200 series but who knows. Ive got 2 DCT6416 III boxes I pay monthly for (which they are crap). Good luck on it.
