| Borderlands?
Well, I must say, I picked up Borderland to "hold me" until CODMW2 comes out and I'm really surprised. This game rocks, especially when you play it with a few people. It's been a long time since someone has brought the multiplayer RPS game this far. Sure, there are better graphics out there, and it takes a little while to get going, but once you do get going, this game is awesome. Although, another friend of mine went to pick it up yesterday and nobody had any left, it seems as though maybe it's selling really well. I've been playing it on the 360 and its seriously highly recommended, good by yourself, great with friends. Oh, and make sure that your friends use different character classes because you can sort of use your friends ability too.
Anyway, just thought I'd give my two cents! |

| I've thought about creating this same topic myself for the last couple days. I picked the game up last Friday and it's been really fun. Starting playing coop with a friend on Sunday and it's even better. The cel shading kind of bothered me at first, but it's grown on me since then. |

| reply to ptrowski I'm also Roland and I'm level 27. My friend I'm playing coop with is the Hunter guy and he's level 24. I found a class mod that gives +8 team ammo regeneration, and he has a class mod that gives +3 team health regeneration. Both of those combined are working really well together. |

Are you playing against others or the single player game?Is it like WoW, MW2, or like GoW, Halo mulitplayer where you play through the game in Co-op. -- How about them Cowboys!

| There is not a separate multiplayer mode in Borderlands, there is just the normal single player story. While you are playing the single player story up to 3 other players can drop in and drop out of your game. The other players come in as their characters with their inventory, weapons, skills, and current level. So if you started a new game with a level 1 character I could join your game with my level 45 guy. Any XP, weapons or money that I pickup while in your game will save to my character, and will still be there when I go back to my game. If we are at similar points in the story then doing your quests will also check them off for me, so when I go back to my game I won't have to do those same quests over again. However if your level 1 character joins my game which is 75% done, any quests we complete won't unlock for you, as I am to far ahead. |

| You can start a 2nd playthough with your already leveled up character. All enemies start off the 2nd playthrough at level 35, and they are a lot tougher. Also all weapons chest and vending machines start off with level 30+ gear and a much higher chance for finding rare items. In short a lot more of the good loot. Basically it's like playing the entire game again on a much harder difficulty. |

Basically it's like playing the entire game again on a much harder difficulty. It's a bit over the top, though. If a BadMutha Skag spawns outside Fireside you can use up several hundred ammo just trying to get out of town, which is a pain for the initial missions when there is no access to vending machines. Bandits are pushovers compared to them. Except for the burning bandits, humans don't like to be on fire. Even my mediocre 240 damage/x4 fire/Pele demands a sacrifice sniper takes them down well. BadMutha == bad. Elemental effects become your friend while they're mostly unnecessary on the first playthrough, with the exception of fire in Old Haven, really.
Still, the $1,800,000 for all of the ammo SDU upgrades at the start of playthrough 2 help a lot.
I can't wait to see how bad playthrough 3 enemies are. |

Just one question: can two people play online with one xbox? In other words, can my wife and I both log on and play with a couple of other friends? -- I blog about video games. |

| I don't believe you can do splitscreen and go online, but I'm not really sure because splitscreen for me is horribly broken. On normal tvs (4:3) the game defaults to horizontal splitscreen, which apparently works fine. On widescreen (16:9) the game defaults to vertical splitscreen and all the menus get cut off. There is no option to manually choose vertical or horizontal. Menus in this game are very important because you are constantly looking at guns to decide if they are better than the one you have, checking the map, or leveling up your skills. From what I understand this bug exists in both X360 and PS3 version of the game. |
