| Props to VT
Giving credit where credit is due. Converted from BYOD to VT-provisioned account on Thursday. Adapter arrived today, plugged it in, didn't have to make any changes on my network, it immediately registered and calls are working just fine. Thanks for a smooth transition, VT -- NukedGallery.net TheMolavis.com |

| BTW, after the switch, my DishNetwork receiver still dialed out without a hitch, and the WAF is at an all time high now -- NukedGallery.net TheMolavis.com |

| reply to dmolavi Mine was not flawless.
The SIP did not work at all when I first installed it. Initially it had no dial-tone. I found my way into the the adapter's setup page and was able to assign a static IP, but it still did not work and kept reverting back to DHCP. After calling a CSR at VT, I was able to get it provisioned. He also configured it to hold a static IP. However when I asked the rep to change the DNS to my local router/gateway IP (as it provides DNS translation) as every other device on my network is setup, he initially refused. He kept telling me I have no idea what DNS is. (Never-mind that I administer a facility with 5 LANs at my workplace including it's own DNS Server.)
He finally gave in and programmed in the DNS address I requested. And I finally had a dial-tone. I made the mistake of hanging up on him thinking all was all right at that point.
When we eventually did get a phone call, we could not hear the incoming voice. It turns out that my router needed some ports forwarded. No need to get into the details, I was able to fix that on my own, and all is well now. Why the CSR didn't even bring up that issue with me is what irks me.
I must say that once we got past those issues, our VT service is actually a lot better than it was with the SunRocket Adapter we had been using. |

HAHAhahahahaa...i'd say "i wish", but i've been down the commission nightmare highway w/ VT before. I prefer their voice service to their commission program -- NukedGallery.net TheMolavis.com |
