| reply to DC DSL At least they can't lose next week. It is so sad, I watched a few minutes and some of the close ups of Campbell's eyes told a lot. He looked like a deer in front of a Peterbuilt most of the time.
Sadder was the shots of the crowd. Too many Philadelphia jerseys and too many Redskins fans with sad faces.
I am beginning to like the idea of boycotting the last three home games. Don't go, don't give away or sell the tickets, just let the stadium be empty. -- Team Discovery |

| reply to DC DSL Sheeze, Since the 60's this is the first game that I couldn't watch completely. Couldn't do it after the first four minutes. I did flip back and forth between channels during commercials and still couldn't stay on ESPN. Turned it back on with 4 minutes to go, looked at the score and had a few harsh words to say. Then flipped stations again.
For the first time in as many years, we will NOT be purchasing any Redskins items for gifts. Every year, we purchase jerseys and all kinds of apparel. This year the grandkids said nope ... Synder doesn't get our $$$$. Smart kids. |

| reply to DC DSL At least it was to a team that had actually won a game before playing the Skins. But they made the Eagle D look really good. The Eagle D that recently re-signed Jeremiah Trotter trying to bolster their D, that let Lito and Brian Dawkins go...
I will say that the Skins D played well, but wonder how big of a blowout it would have been if Westbrook had stayed healthy.
Davis did have some nice catches after Cooley went down, but he can't pass block for sh*t. No wait a minute, I'm wrong, he can block for sh*t.
Das Snyder has bought himself a pretty nice D, but I really doubt if there is enough free cap space to do much with the O-line.... but uncapped year looking to come up so maybe there are plans.
Adding another cast-off, LT Levi Jones was necessary, but Levi was cut by the Bengals (3rd most sacks allowed last year), and he did sit at home from May to October before a team finally had to open the checkbook for him (Samuels injury and poor OL depth). I am not going to knock Heyer, gotta love what the undrafted tackle from Maryland has managed to do on some skill and a lot of grit. At least there is no loss coming up this week
Did you see Campbell duck the flying LB near the end of the game? Campbell had been hit a lot, and was slow getting up on a number of occasions. I saw that play unfolding and the thought that came immediately into my mind was "He is done", then he ducked it and survived. I wonder how long it took him to find the least painless way to get out of bed this morning? -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Bleah |

| reply to DC DSL said by DC DSL :Snyder must go He's not going to sell the team voluntarily, and it's unlikely there will be a coup or any sort of league mandate for him to sell. So 'Snyder must go' talk would seem to be pretty pointless.
(Though the more I consider the 'coup' aspect, the better I'm liking it.)

| reply to grobinette Gee, glad I did miss the game. Less pain watching Lewis' playbook I guess. It is funny and sad at the same time.
In all the down years the Skins have had that I have witnessed, this season is the worse I have ever seen. I was born with burgundy and gold running through my veins. Still does. I complained somewhat when JKC owned the team, but it was over small stuff until his will made it possible for letting Snyder get the opportunity to get the team as owner. Don't think he realized what the consequences would be when he did it.
It's difficult to want the Skins to succeed while at the same time having deep disrespect for Snyder and not wanting to give him any $$$ for the team.
The Skins problems run deeper than Snyder and they have for the past ten years. Snyder won't change his micro-managing habits, won't fire Vinny, will fire Zorn, will continue to abuse fans who support the team, and will continue to find sub par players and pay them outrageous salaries only to have them sit on the beach because they can't run more than one play without getting winded.
As long as Synder continues to run the Skins into the ground the way he has, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of the Skins having a winning season again. And that is very difficult for me to come to terms with. |

He could be a very serviceable guard with no major weaknesses.
Grobs, great link! Sad but funny. I think Sherm is going to have a hard time getting the post-Snyder stink off of him. I did like some of the flow and play calls I saw.
There was a quote by somebody that I don't remember exactly, but went something like a coach being asked about execution after a game, and he said Yes, they all should be taken out and executed.

| That is sick.
Maybe what needs to happen is for fans to have a Daniel Snyder Appreciation Day.
On that day, you don't go to the game or watch it on a TV that can be tracked for ratings.
Sure it will p*ss him off, but that is not the object, the object is to have Forbes want to take another look at how much they have his franchise valued at. »espn.go.com/sportsbusiness/s/forbes.html
Maybe then the arrogant one wakes up and learns that the value of his great possession is not what he has but in the fan base that pours the money into it. I think Angelos finally learned some things and backed off giving Andy McPhail a lot more power than he would have years ago. -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Bleah |

| reply to DC DSL Proof that Cerrato was dropped on his head repeatedly as a child:
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs.
The Washington Redskins' front office chief made a rare appearance before reporters Tuesday to talk about the team's 2-5 start. He called the record "frustrating and disappointing" but said he felt the roster he assembled had playoff potential.
The lack of depth on the offensive line is a sore point. Clinton Portis said Monday it was an issue that wasn't addressed - "and it came back to haunt us."
Cerrato said he tried to address the line in the offseason but that finding quality depth isn't always easy.
The Redskins have a bye following Monday night's 24-17 loss to Philadelphia.

| I saw that interview.
Vinny has to say that, to say anything else is admitting he screwed up.
He also said that no OL was worth picking at 13 (so they took Orakpo). Sounds great but Michael Oher was sitting in New York at the invite of the 49ers who didn't take him because Al Davis reached for Heyward-Bey and left Michael Crabtree who they couldn't resist at #10, Oher should have been gone 3 slots before Vinny picked. Ravens traded up when Oher dropped to 23 and grabbed him. He started at RT for 3 games, then had to switch to LT when Gaither got hurt. His 4th professional game and he holds his own pretty darn good against Jared Allen.
I'd guess Vinny going to the media was nothing more than spin control. He screwed up. left a glaring need, the Redskins are paying for it, "and it is Zorn's play calling fault".
Alex Mack a 6'4" 316lb center was there for Cleveland at 21. Tell me someone that size can't play guard for a couple of years. He won the Morris Trophy in 2007 and 2008 (Best O-lineman in the Pac 10), making him the third offensive lineman and the first since Washington's Lincoln Kennedy in 1991-1992 to win the award twice. -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me.
