I had trouble with algebra. They taught us to add or subtract the same term from each side. Well, that's two operations and increased the chance of making mistakes.
My former brother-in-law taught me to just move the term from one side to the other and flip the sign. Much easier and less likely to make a mistake. Algebra was easy once I learned that.
I showed it to everyone else in the class. I think the teacher was annoyed, but I bet we all did better. |

| reply to Bobcat This "new math" is something no one has been able to explain to me, I believe most over the age of 30 or so uses the same algorithm to do basic math problems. -- It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. |
