This was inspired by a comment made in another thread. For me, it would be any American Motors Vehicle except perhaps for the '71 Javelin AMX. |

| reply to Waterbug Wow !!! I actually recognized the road. That dark tunnel was under Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit. The driver was probably some Chrysler exec, who didn't even own the car. On a different note, I was mowing my lawn one day about 15 years ago, and 26 Dodge Vipers passed in front of my house, followed by a Michigan State Trooper. The Viper Club of America was en-route from the Chrysler test track in Chelsea, Michigan, to do a parade lap at MIS (Michigan International Speedway). Guess they took the back roads to avoid causing a traffic jam. The bear was probably there to control any idiots, like the driver in the video. Can you picture 26 Viper drivers all trying to out do the others? |

That video is from a different country. Look at the plates and the markings on the overpasses. Hell look at the semi's that they passed and see that they don't come from the US. |

I don't know what kind of computer you have, but there isn't enough definition in that video to read a single sign or license plate. If you can read them, post what you read. To be honest, you can't even tell if the red car is a Viper. |

»blog.cardomain.com/2009/02/13/ca···r-rebel/
quote: The new 1957 Rebel debuted as a high-performance vehicle that combined AMC’s lightweight 108-inch wheelbase Rambler four-door hardtop body with AMC’s new 327 cu in V-8, making it the first-time that a large block V8 was installed in a mid-size car in the post-World War II marketplace. General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler offered no intermediate sized cars whatsoever. The Rebel’s $2,786 MSRP base price was economical for the amount of power provided. It was the fastest stock American sedan, according to Motor Trend Magazine. Among the items included in the Rebel’s price of were reclining seats, power steering, power brakes, a “continental” tire carrier, windshield washers, a radio, back-up lights, full wheel discs, a padded instrument panel and sun visors. A silver-and-black interior trim designed exclusively for the Rebel harmonized with the monotone body paint.

| reply to Waterbug Pause the video 3 seconds in. Look at the overpass, see the bright yellow and black paint. Thats not done here in states, also note the 2 round signs in that area that say 44?
Even if it was filmed in the states, it 100% for a fact is not anywhere in Michigan, let alone under Cobo. I've driven that a bazillion times in the last 10 years. |

| reply to Waterbug Oh, god... where do I begin? Lessee...
First and foremost, I would not only be embarrassed to have a '70s corolla in my driveway, but if it in any way resembled the 78 like in this picture
1978 Corolla, which looks eerily close to the model I had to drive
I would run, very very far away. Or call up a priest to exorcise it.
Anything in pink... I don't care if it belongs to a woman, I don't care if it's for breast cancer support, it is not spending time in my driveway. I will either move it (with a bag over my head), or ask its driver to please move it to a more discrete location. That is just where I have to draw the line.
On that same note, if a car has one or more of the following: - 'altezza' lights - A 'Type-R' or 'VTEC' sticker when the vehicle is neither following the actual Type R specification nor has an engine with VTEC in it - enormous mufflers when the engine produces less than 400bHP - a 'fake' dual exhaust pipe - a non-functioning hood scoop - 'spinner' rims - low profile tires on larger than stock wheels - a Turbo decal when the engine does not actually have a turbo on it chances are, I will be quite embarrassed even looking at the thing.
Any and all SUV's. Sorry, but I just hate all SUV's equally. At least a van has relative dignity in that vans are usually used for work purposes. SUVs wouldn't even know what work is anymore. -- Front Line Force Fortress Forever |
