SkyFX super slow since Sun 10/18 ?

I just got converted from Starconnect to SkyFX on Saturday 10/17 - and initial test was 470K download - yay....

Since Sunday 10/18 it was 100K and down to 40-60K download last few days - boo....

Others seeing this ?

SkyFX support said it was a server issue expected to be fixed in 48 hours - on 10/20.

Thanks,
foothilldave - killer of networks apparently....

We must be closer to the bird here in the East. LOL. Sorry to hear about your speed. I haven't seen any fluctuation here, but you may want to get hold of tech support. Do you have a SW20? They can hit that from the sky to troubleshoot. I got an email on the server deal, but that was last week, and we didn't feel any earthquakes here.
By the way, when my signal strength goes below 7 or so everything hangs up. It could be a simple tweak at the dish.
Otherwise I suggest that you ask Greg. He has helped us in the past. No one knows more than Greg when it comes to this stuff.

OK Thanks - so I guess it is just my own problem. SkyFX "reset" something on my account (not RUP - what ?) and I had 100K for a few hours - then back to 40K today.

The re-programed F11 just shows "green" signal strength so can't really tell signal quality - but I am told it is OK by SkyFX. I like the original that had a signal quality number and modem baud rate shown.

My issue was fixed (kindof) by 10/27 after some change at the service end. Now download is around 450K. It presumably impacted more than myself.

That's what I like about that group. They're there every time I needed them and they stayed with the problem till it was fixed. The Starconnect people were scarce at best. I got more help on this site than I did from Starconnect except for Bob Profitt when he was home. I think it was a good choice with Skyfx.
