| Setting up a Ventrilo server. TESTED! - not working.
Hi all, my name is Jean-Michel Mailhot and im french from canada, montreal. So, i'll try my best!
I have bought the new router called 2701HG-G from 2wire and I still have a problem with making Ports. I am a World of Warcraft and a Aion player so I need my own ventrilo server to not buy from someone. Heres what i did:
Ventrilo:
I made a server with the Edit INI File:

After this, I took my internet IP address which was 192.168.2.1 and i put it on Internet explorer. After that, in ventrilo i changed the setups to:
hostname or ip: (my private IP address)
port number: 3784 (which is default)
PW: (blank)
back to the router page on internet explorer, i was trying to make a new port like all people explain on youtube but its not the same router so i have to do a different thing. On the youtube video i listened (links are at the down of the page) it says you have to make a port and set:
Service name: Ventrilo
Service type: TCP/UDP
Starting port: 3784
Ending port:3784
Server IP address: 192.168.2.1 (your own, depends on # of machines)
And then i was searching for that damn port thing. then i played with the application support which is what i did:
I made a new application called Ventrilo, i made the application to work on ALL applications type like PPTP. I put both of them as UDP and TCP. It says the public IP is (my own IP) and then when i go in Summary, its saying that the Private IP address is 0.0.0.0. What do i have to do to set up new ports easily. Can anyone explain really good cause i dont have any bases in that! And i opened my vent server to make sure its connecting to it and its saying : Contacting server... (not capable of contacting it! :S)

| I wish my high school French was good enough to talk to you in your comfort zone but I'll try to be as specific as possible.
At the top of your modem's main GUI (Graphic User Interface) page, you should see an icon for Firewall. Click on Firewall and then Edit Firewall Settings, click on 'Add a user defined application'. From there it should be pretty clear on what to do. If not, here's the link to go to 2wire's page on it:
