Anyone know what this is?

It just appeared on the phone pole across the street from my house. It says Net 4 and has an 800 number on the box below the antenna.

Net4, in Australia and India, seems to be a wireless internet service provider.

In Los Angeles, dunno. Maybe public safety/municipal workers' opn 4.9GHz.

Wish one of your pix were a bit larger. See if it's Motorola's aged Canopy crap product.

Is your power company reading meters wireless now? Could be for that.

I don't think it has anything to do with a utility, as we have a muni here (LADWP) and it has an electric meter.
The antenna seems to have about six N connectors on the bottom. Next time i see someone working on it, I will ask them what it 's for.

It might be just some company's private wireless bridge. Some companies around here have them to get their network across a road. Looks like there's only one antenna, so follow the line of sight and you should find a matching box, unless it hasn't been installed yet.

I found out what it is...

It's a mini cell site for Metro PCS. They're installing fiber all over the area and hooking these mini sites to them. We're on a small hill so they like this location. Right now the site is installed and powered and fiber is run from it to the end of the street, where the end sits on the pole coiled up. Last week they were running fiber on the cross street in this direction, so I'd imagine this site will be active in a few days...
