| [ TGV] TGV 50: speeds cut in half...?!? |Vitesse en moitie?!?
hey all, just started ultimate 50 thursday and got speeds as high as 44\mbps;
friday afternoon speeds went to 29; and the weekend they never went over 17-20Mbps;
today they were at 14Mbps; i already had them change the modem on saturday; was told today that the ip test shows 100% loss; and that i may not be receiving all the packets;
tech came sat and said signals are within the norm; csr today told me my levels are 1.8, 1.0, 1.3...>>is this good or bad??
any suggestions would be helpful!!

Yes, while watching youtube, do a speedtest just to see.
Or, download a file from Microsoft. |

I have a similar problem.
Videotron is working on my problem.
Meanwhile, I found a trick to get 50 MBits/sec.

What did you expected?
Average website have a 8 Mbps upstream limit.
Maybe there's a real problem but please consider that a 50mbps upstream link is freaking RARE! |

Hi!
I've just used the Youtube trick again and I'm running at 50 MBits/sec.
I don't know what Videotron is doing to solve my problem.
They told me the problem is complex.
I will call them back tomorrow to know if they found a solution.
I will keep you informed.

Je ne comprends plus rien; la vitesse est pourri (sp); par contre surant la journee je eu des vitesses qui depasse 130Mbps?

But, it does nothing if you have Windows Vista.
Yesterday, Vidéotron confirmed that to me.

Yesterday, Vidéotron told me I do not have problem with TGV 50 if I get between 3,0 MBytes/sec and 5,6 MBytes/sec.
27 Mbps is around 3,3 MBytes/sec.
So, Vidéotron could tell you do not have a problem.
For sure, do not accept this answer from Vidéotron.
You really have a problem.
Do not hesitate to call back Vidéotron again and again.

2 edits | The signals are good i am told; a tech came yesterday and told me thre is too much variation in the signals, that it is a network problem;
i wil wait till monday and go from there;
i wonder if W7 will be the same, maybe i will try that this weekend with the tcp optimiser..

I'm so sadddddddddd.
