@switchworks.net | I hope they will soon be in Ontario. I'll sign up in a heartbeat for their home service and say goodbye to shitty dsl forever. Bhell needs some serious competition. Go SkyNet!! |

| reply to SkyNetCanada Sounds promising (well it's only one person so far...)
You should make FAQ forum topic in your forum with the coverage area, what it is, the install, limits, B/W shaping, DPI (if any) etc etc
Been a few people in the Montreal area, in the forums, looking for better. But many look for "cheaper" sadly. |

join:2008-08-31 | reply to SkyNetCanada I don't want to sound skeptical, but no one else thinks it's a bit strange that an ISP asks for reviews, then 20 minutes later, someone randomly pops up and posts an awesome review? With an @videotron.ca IP nonetheless. |

join:2008-08-31 | reply to SkyNetCanada Oh, and this is also the same service/company that had some really strange links that someone had found a few months ago? Trying to dig up the page now.
AND it looks like they're astroturfing, which can't be a good sign. |

2 edits | My god give me a darn break. yes I thought it would be a good idea to get some customer reviews for people just like you! So I emailed a few customers asking to post review at provide like I sent them.
The guys name company and darn phone number are in the post..! What more do you want...... What the heck is astroturfing??
Cant a promissing startup provide great service at never seen before prices because they believe the big ISP's are money hungry pigs without getting snuffed at? WOuld be nice to see SkyNet's efforts praised like the other ppl in this post than see posts from ppl like you.
BTW Responses GREATLY appreciated and more review on there way im told by customers.. Hope to stir the pot in the commercial offerings within the ISPs. Bottom line is if SkyNet makes enough noise with great service and great prices, hopefully one day your ISP will do the same |

With an @videotron.ca IP nonetheless. 1. What is strange about that? Where did he ask for a review 20-minutes ago. Paste the link where you see him asking for a review and we will compare the times of the topics to see if 20-minutes elapsed. I think you're blowing smoke.
2. The service in Montreal orientated. Why would a videotron IP be suspicious? Do you think only 1 person has a videotron IP in all of Quebec? Again, more smoke blowing tin-foil hat stuff.
If they are "astroturfing", as you state. This will show when more try it. Would this be different than fanboys telling people to use certain ISP's over others?
If SkyNet actually works as they claim, great! As more try it more will comment. Till then... |

I think YOU are being a bit of an ass telling someone they are blowing smoke for doing simple math.

1 edit | reply to vitesse Thx and Thx again.
Just to clarify, the link is in my first post, and yes I created thread and was in current discussions with Urban doing configurations and asked if and when he had time if he could post his thoughts about SkyNet so far.
Will try and get on the map request as I have had many requests for this. The issue is that even though a particuler location is not within are present cells, does not mean service can not be made availabel as relays are easy to setup thus service easily made available even if not available at present time. By haveinvg a detailed service area map, this might discourage potential customers as alot of ppl dont read everything and will just see map and think oh well cant get it.!
Being said, we almost have a complete loop around the greater Montreal area completed with several POP's within this outer loop. This means that we can pretty much go 50Km without a relay in any direction (LOS) from outer POP's and obviously from inner ones as well if desired.
Outer Ring:
North = St-Jerome West = OKA East = Anjou South = Decarie / Ville -St-Laurent
Again with multiple "inside" the ring POP's which some can be found in previous posts here and some new ones not posted yet. |
