Comcast and HSN channel

I guess this is new to me but today while channel surfing I passed by HSN and there was a "Press OK/SELECT to shop" button. I though it was a error then I clicked it and it showed the current item being sold. I never knew this was going to be a option on the DCX box I have. I hope there is a easy way to block this.

Check your parental controls. I have not checked mine, but it goes along with the new firmware for iTV they pushed. I do have Parental controls set on mine, so it may block it, but wife is currently watching DIY.

Just checked locks, no way of locking from people choosing to press ok, but if you do like I do, just lock that channel out, along with setting OnDemand for a lock.

I don't think you can buy anything that way (with your remote control) without having a HSN account and a credit card on file with HSN. But yes, you can just lock the channel if you want to be even more safe.

This requires I-Guide A28 correct? I thought this was for QVC. Or does this work on all of them HSN, ShopNBC, etc...

Yeah I've had this for a while..
»shop by remote

So far I've only noticed this for HSN..
It's on my DCX and DCH boxes both have I-guide A25.

The only way I've found to remove the "pressOK to shop" box was hit exit on the remote. It reappears when changing the channel back to HSN.

Pretty scary! I hit order to see what happens and it asked me what size i wanted for the ugly overpriced sweater. I am so happy my other box doesn't have that! The last thing i need is my roommates ordering crap off hsn and putting it on my account!

again, it only works if

1. You have an validated HSN account
2. a HSN password
3. a credit card on file with HSN.

It does not get billed to your Comcast bill and you can not order anything unless all three conditions above are met.

Warzau, we already have it with Tivo/TivoHD. Well, actually, they claim it's temporarily unavailable as it is "Under Construction". But it was there and working earlier this year.

Too bad that's Domino's.

I'd take advantage of a Pizza Hut order by remote. Already do it on the computer. If I don't have to get up to go over to the computer that would be cool.

Heck you can order Pizza from the command line now, why not the cable box?
