My brother wants to re-use his FlowPoint 2200 dsl router, on his new broadband connection. My question is would he be able to use it, since our cable provider issues us a dhcp address. I didn't see the option to set the wan port to dhcp, seems like it only support static IPs.
Any advice.
I already told him to just use a linksys, but he's fixed on re-using this 2200.

Colorado | It won't work. The Flowpoint 2200 can't be used as a LAN router behind a cable modem. The 2200 WAN port expects an ADSL signal. After Efficient Networks bought Flowpoint they created the 5880 for that purpose. I'll sell him mine if he wants one. |
