Sounds like a plan to me..I do think that there should be some sort of info that is reachable via a weblink or something that will let customers know what is going on or have some explanation as to when we can expect to have our service restored..After all, it is a service that we PAY for..

Same in Michigan. Down for over 1 hour. Callcentric support is only reachable from their page, which is unreachable. Hilarious. Why did I go with this company? If anyone has a phone number, please post.

He's probably the poor guy in the basement trying to splice together that 512 pair of fiber with duct tape. He can't answer the phone at the same time! :-D

I just got into their site. There is a posting that they are experiencing an outage. At least they know about it LOL. Able to ping their ping server. But can't make calls yet. Site seems to be working for now.

This is why we use a "Virtual PBX" in front of Call Centric, or any
Voip provider/internet provider.

The Virtual PBX (auto attendant)forwards calls to both our CC lines and cell phones as extentions to the system.
So when these troubles happen we still receive calls.

How does one set up this virtual PBX? Do you need special equipment for it?? Please elaborate for the non inclined...

They should just send out an email that says they are working on the problem. When they have a time frame, send another email out. Some don't use Twitter.

You should reconsider your line of thought. The point of Twitter is that anyone from CallCentric can login to the account and update the status from their cell phones.

I don't see some CallCentric employee logging into GMail from their cell phone and sending a couple hundred thousand clients an outage update.

Even if NYC was wiped off the face of the earth.. then some CC executive somewhere could let us know what's going on.

CC executive?? I think you overestimate the company. There is a reason why our rates are so cheap.

When customers are loosing hundreds of dollars per hour then I need some plausible excuse for their losses. Silence is not an acceptable excuse from any company.

Even AT&T (the evil scourge of the earth) can managed a Twitter update for its customers.
