| Football wondering
Does Detroit get its first win this weekend? Hate to say it, but looks like they have their best chance in a while. I don't even want to think about what that will do with Das Snyder but it won't be pretty.
Will Quinn be benched for Anderson? Last year the Ravens sent a couple of QBs to the bench, one of which was McNabb. Wondering if it starts again with this game. -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Bleah |

We know the Skins can't go in to the game thinking it's an automatic win but Detroit should be set up for another shut out season. -- Team Discovery |

1 edit | said by grobinette : Detroit should be set up for another shut out season. Detroit being shut out was probably the saving grace for the Skins last year. However, if we have another hollow victory against Detroit it will mean we've got even more serious suckage than last year. We'd probably be set on a course for being Swiffers come Dallas in November. -- There is no giant fur-bearing trout. |

| Didn't see the game, was watching Quinn get pulled for Anderson (still can't remember who else the Ravens did it to last year besides the Eagles).
I gotta read up on the Skins to better know why they lost (they stink isn't good enough LOL) I still suspect the O-Line. Reasons Portis isn't the back he was years ago, still good but probably needs a better hole than he used to be able to slash through. And I suspect Campbell needs a little more time than he is getting, gotta see what the hurries/knock downs/sacks were, and gotta see if he had time to take any shots downfield.
Have to look at age also, Fletcher is 34, Sellers is 34 (and he played for Edmondton Eskimos at 19), Wynn is 35, Thomas 33 (and out for the year), Daniels 36, and Samuels, Rabach, Yoder ain't young either, not to mention Collins is 38.
Sorry guys, I just don't see this team going anywhere.... it has been patched together with high priced free agents and major depth issues. I also (based on Snyder's history) don't see Zorn lasting... There are six coaches (Brian Billick, Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Jon Gruden, Mike Holmgren and Mike Shanahan) out of work who have 7 of the last 13 Super Bowl wins and I can see him giving almost anything for one of them. Snyder knows the mistake he made with Schottenheimer, but whoever comes in is going to have a mess to begin straightening out, hell, not even straightening out, more like starting over, and they are going to want a lot of control. Joe Gibbs, great as he is could only do so much.
They are not the Lions, but Vinny sure is starting to smell like Matt Millen. -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Bleah |

Someone needs to fire Zorn's ass AND make Danny Boy stay completely out of the picture as far as operations...except to fire someone who doesn't deliver for what he pays them. -- There is no giant fur-bearing trout. |

| reply to Rxdoxx It's funny: I hate the Redskins, but even I hate to see the shambles that Snyder's ownership has turned the Redskins into. A team with that kind of history doesn't deserve this kind of ownership, and the real fans certainly deserve better, too. -- The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt. -- Bertrand Russell |

| reply to Rxdoxx I don't know who to feel more sorry for, Detroit for having such a bad season last year or the Redskins for constantly mucking things up. I am not a Redskins fan, but I hate to see a team that had promise last year and this year just seem not to play football. -- »www.jrslaterphotography.com/

| reply to Rxdoxx I'm not a fan either, but it's interesting to point out that Washington is the most profitable team in the NFL, so it pays to lose.
Too bad the NFL doesnt' have a lower division like the soccer leagues in Europe. We could institute the relegation system, in which the, say, worst three teams in the league move down to the lower division and the top three teams from the lower division move up. -- Verizon FIOS |

Nice to see someone else who appreciates the idea of a relegation system. Can't see it working in the NFL (too small of a number and no minor leagues), but baseball would be ideal. The fly in that ointment is we would probably lose both this areas teams from the premier division. And it doesn't have to be the bottom 3 teams, just one team a year moving would be enough to weed out the pathetic owners and reward a minor league community with a very effective owner and strong area support. Would really improve the pathetic product that some baseball has become. -- Was a Cruise Fanatic, one cruise on Princess cured me. Bleah |

Nice to see someone else who appreciates the idea of a relegation system. Can't see it working in the NFL (too small of a number and no minor leagues) We could fix that -- relegate a whole bunch of teams in the first year to a brand new lower division. 32 is a pretty decent number to work with. Perhaps combine a mass relegation with a couple of expansion teams to even out the numbers. That would also stop schedule inflation and the NFL could once again stage the Super Bowl sooner than Easter (OK, I exaggerate to make a point). -- Verizon FIOS |
