| reply to nascar I was trying to watch the Nets-Magic game out of VHO-8 and it was pretty unwatchable. Constant lockup, pixelation and freeze. It seemed like someone turned down the bandwidth meter to just over zero.

| reply to nascar nope directv nba league pass is in HD,plus we now have dual feeds for most games so i can watch my teams announcers for every game ,the picture quality is outstanding on directv. I wish the cable on demand nba league pass would do what directv does! because i want to switch to verizon but i really want all my sports in HD! |

1 edit | reply to matcarl said by matcarl :Yes, two different HD channels, one is NBA TV HD and the other is part of NBA League Pass. You can go to www.indemand.com, click on Sports, click on NBA League Pass, then click on Schedule to find out what games will be on the league pass channels. I don't know what they air on NBA TV. Good tip.
I ordered LP on 11/3 to get the early bird price. VZ activated it in 5 min......took longer to get through all the voice prompts to get CS on the line.
Oh, and they said I will get billed in 3 monthly installments, added to my regular VZ bill. Pretty cool.
Yeah, as others have said the PQ is not great on the SD channels, but when I had LP using Comcast back in 2007 it was probably worse.
At least VZ has 1 HD channel for LP, that was more than I had last time.
The big feature for me is the free LP Broadband companion (they wanted $139 just for that by itself!), so good way to always be able to watch a game since they keep them archived for 48 hours.
----EDIT---- Oh, for anyone trying to register for the LP Broadband, you have to put in a trouble ticket with LP, since Verizon is not listed as one of the providers in the pull-down menu. |

How long did it take for them to activate your LP broadband? I just opened a ticket.

It's most likely not, as the NBA has been very aggressive at getting the channel on the lowest digital tier it can with all MSOs. |

| reply to nascar I still can receive NBA TV HD in Summit, NJ but not NBA TV SD. When I go to channel 89 (NBA TV SD), it says that I'm not subsrcibed to the channel and when I click the OK button it says that the channel is part of the $7.99 a month Sports package and to click OK again if I wish to order. Of course, I didn't click OK again. I clicked Cancel instead. |

I submitted on 11/5, it was assigned to a tech 11/10
Hopefully only a few more days
----EDIT---- I just checked and I'm in!
If you submitted a ticket, go to the Support Center and log-in here »leaguepasssupport.nba.com/ics/su···ogin.asp
What they do is give you a 'Solution Suggested' and provide a Coupon Code to enter, so you are getting Broadband for free like we should |

I just talked to Verizon and the representative told me that NBA TV SD (channel 89) is available only to Extreme HD or Sports package customers. If you are a Premier customer, like myself, you won't receive NBA TV SD. However, Premier customers along with Extreme HD and Sports package customers can receive NBA TV HD (channel 589). It's weird how they left out Premier customers for the SD version of NBA TV. |

| So wait... I can't get NBA TV on SD even though I ordered the NBA package??
That doesn't make sense.
I mean, I'm happy that we have FINALLY gotten the NBA on FIOS.
But I have one standard box and one high-def box. NBA TV shows on my HD box on the HD channel. But it does NOT show on my HD box on my SD channel. What sense does it make to have it show on my HD box on ONLY the HD channel? Seems confusing to me.
I'm in Nassau, NY by the way.
So to summarize, NBA TV on my HD box shows on channel 589 but NOT 89. And NBA TV on my SD box doesn't show on 89 and simply not allowable on 589. |

| reply to nascar That's correct, SpeedyFios. If you are a FiOS TV Premier subscriber, you will only receive the HD channel of NBA TV (channel 589) on your HD box but you won't have the SD channel of NBA TV (channel 89) on either your HD box, SD box or digital adapter. It doesn't make sense but that's how Verizon has it set up for FiOS TV Premier customers. If you want the SD channel of NBA TV, it will cost you either a little more a month for the Extreme HD package or $7.99 a month for the Sports package in the New York/Northern New Jersey area. Do you have the Premier package, SpeedyFios? |
