[Unstable] 500MHz FSB and Ethernet quits working?

I am running a G31M-ES2L with Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 and the ethernet won't get a link (doesn't even show up in hardware manager) when I run the RAM at 500MHz /2.0v /6x multi for 3.0GHz (E8200)

Any suggestions? I am thinking it has something to do with the PCI-X bus, but I don't see anywhere to lock it at 100MHz. Any ideas?

-Auto setting usually equals 100mhz
-Is this a new system? Did you install the ethernet drivers from your mobo disk ?
-Older system? Re-install from driver disk?

Only ideas I have.

I've had really bad luck with OC and onboard NICs.

Try a PCI NIC if you have one.

this thread is kind of old but ctrl + F1 in bios will give you advanced options which should let you lock the pci-e. I'm supprised that it even posted at 500mhz as 400mhz is a stretch for G31 chipsets.
