| Fox Channel 202 - Madison Heights
Anyone else having problems with Fox 2 LIVE HD, like football today or the baseball game of the week yesterday? For lack of a better description, the image is jittering, like an extremely fast stop motion. Doesn't happen on analog 2, or 202 without the converter box. It only happens through the SA 4250HDC.
It doesn't happen on Cops last night (HD program, but not live) or local HD news or the dramas/sitcoms/etc that are in HD. Just LIVE HD sports. HD commercials during these live HD sports broadcasts are fine though. But the pregame now, and the shots of the around the league pre-game stuff....totally unwatchable. Same with the baseball game yesterday.
And oh, it didn't just happen. Been that way since I got the 4250HDC about a month ago but today is the first day I cared because of the start of NFL. When I saw it before, another baseball game of the week, just figured it was the feed from that stadium and didn't think twice about it and watched something else.
The problem doesn't happen on ESPN/2, NBC, CBS or ABC during their live HD sports.
Any thoughts? I'm probably going to exchange the box and see if that helps. |

| reply to lionslose Same issue here in Sterling Heights with the SA 8300HDC. I noticed this about a month ago watching Fox Saturday baseball and it has continuted with the start of the football season. I'm almost sure it isn't the box but rather the feed from Fox due to this happening ONLY with Fox. |

1 edit | It really stands out watching the Tigers games. It happens on both FSN HD and Fox HD (both same company anyways) but you can see it when they zoom in on a player like the pitcher. It starts flickering like an old movie from the 1800s. Saw it tonight when the camera zoomed in on a Jays player in the dugout. |

1 edit | reply to lionslose i've noticed when, for me anyway, when it happens the most:
football: press box camera from the 50ish yard line. camera shots from field view/endzone where fine.
baseball: camera shot from centerish field showing the pitcher/catcher/batter/ump. camera shots from the two dugouts where fine.
not sure what that means, if anything. seems the camera with the greater zoom capabilities (or i should say, cameras that are physically farther away from the action) are having the problems. |

Now that you mention it, these are the only shots Ive noticed the problem too. But I have not noticed it at all on FSD HD (220), only FOX HD (202). |

| reply to lionslose This is a known issue with the SA HD boxes and also affects some Vizio TVs when using the internal tuner. It does not affect any other STBs or TV brands. Fox is working with Cisco to figure out a fix, but I have not heard anything about a timeframe.
There is a long and active thread over at AVSForum for anyone who wants more information: »www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthre···=1163878 |

| said by imrf :Yay for Fox changing encoders!! You can blame Fox if you like, but their encoder is still putting out a standards-compliant signal, and no other manufacturers' STBs have trouble with it aside from SA. Seems pretty clear to me that the blame lies with SA on this one. |
