Dual Boot Problem

I have XP Pro x86 on one HDD.
I have Win 7 Pro x86 on another HDD.
I have Easy BCD installed also which shows both OS's.
With all drives connected the dual boot screen appears on startup.
If I choose Win 7 it will boot OK.
If I choose XP it tells me ntldr is missing or corrupt and to run the repair which I did. Tried it again and I get the same error.
If I disconnect the Win 7 HDD then XP will boot up and run OK.
I thought I would ask here before I mess everything up too much.

Edit: I did restore XP from a ShadowProtect image. But I think the image was made before the Win 7 install.

With OS's on two different hard drives, it's sometimes less fuss to simply use boot priority in BIOS than something like Easy BCD. I have Vista on one drive and XP Pro on another. When I want to switch, I restart, hit Del, go to hard disk boot priority in BIOS, change to the other disk, save, and voila. Never a problem. This may seem like too much trouble, but it only takes seconds and is very reliable. If you had two OS's on different partitions on the same drive, then you would actually need Easy BCD. With two drives, not so much. Of course, your mileage may vary, etc.

That does seem like the most viable option in this case.
I dont use XP much except for my imaging software which isn't Win 7 supported.
