| Is Summer Ending?
10 Day Forecast Katy, TX |
This is from TWC website for the 10 day forecast in Katy. Could it be those 95+ degF days of the last 3 months are over? Can it truly finally be the Not Summer season here?
After a week in the Rocky Mountain Nation Park, the parking lot at IAH felt like a oven on return. I for one am ready for cooler weather, oh yeah my AC unit agrees.
(I know I am dreaming but nothing wrong with a fantasy every now and then). |

| I agree, cooler temps would be most welcome. Hate going to the coast to fish and having to spend the day in 100 degree temps. A few weeks ago I had to go to Emeryville, California (across the bay from San Francisco) for a business trip. Really enjoyed the temps and low humidity there. Even had to wear a jacket a couple of evenings while out site seeing. -- The only thing we have to fear is Fear itself...... and spiders. |

| Actually yesterday sitting in the van in the parking lot before going home with doors open a "COOL" breeze blew threw it was pleasant. Then on the way to work this morning windows open and again nicely cool.
Of course both these conditions were either well shaded from any sun or in the dark of the morning but still, it feels different than the last 3 months. I can actually see doing some of the big garage projects I would like to do this year. |

| Yes it is definitely a 'beautiful day in the neighborhood' as Mr. Rogers would say. I have some garage projects to do myself -- The only thing we have to fear is Fear itself...... and spiders. |

I know how you feel how it felt like a oven. when we fly in to Houston in the summer its just nuts and we can't wait to get back here to our lower temps in the mid 80's
BTW no pic's of RMNP? |

| Yes we stayed in a crappy little cottage near the entrance to the park in EP. Pretty funny as we were driving up higher and higher in the mountains I said, "Look isn't the air much clearer and everything looks so sharp." Someone said, "Yeah, Just like HDTV."
We also enjoyed the water from the tap there, an amazing difference. I think I have eaten as much buffalo as I am going to for rest of my life. |

Water from the TAP? hmm no thanks but vs Houston water i might drink ours here. I love staying up in EP we do it every Jan/Feb since we moved here 3 years ago.
To the person who said it looks just like HDTV is so funny i never thought of looking at it like that up there it is soo clear . |

Not only that but we have gone from dust bowl conditions to near rain forest overnight. Yesterday was almost a full day of drip drip drip type rain. Looks like we could finish the week like this. |

| I spoke to my 82 year old Mom in SW Houston last night and she said the same thing. It's finally cooled down a little, with rain, and she's in hog heaven.
She passed on her genetic profile to me which includes a mean "sweat gene". I'm glad I'm not in the area the last few years to suffer that normally oppressive summertime heat and humidity... but I do miss Houston (home) dearly, otherwise. |

| My daughter lives in Albuquerque (5th year at UNM) and she, too, misses Houston. Maybe we dropped her on her head...
On the other hand, its not even 80 degrees yet this morning. Time to dig out the anorak and wellies. -- How you can make the world a Better Place |

| reply to mr sean We've been here 5 years too (since April 2004) and I've about had enough of it. UNM is a great school and all, and Kirtland AFB is a great place to work, but Albuquerque ain't nothing like Houston. I can relate to the daughter missing what she's used to... |
