Have a Motorola SB5100 modem and am thinking it might be the source of a connectivity issue I am having, but not sure.
Here's what happens: for the most part my connection is stable, but whenever I use an extension called Session Manager and open up a bunch of tabs invariably some of the tabs will not display and have a message in the bottom left corner saying "connecting...". i can usually get the tabs to load if i keep hitting reload and wait a few minutes. or, resetting the cable modem always seems to fix it right away.
Here's what I have tried: - upgraded router (Netgear) firmware to latest version - tried changing to OpenDNS - installed firefox extension "Tweak Network", changed firefox max connections to 40, etc.
The problem keeps occurring. So how do I figure out what's causing it? The reason I suspect the modem is the problem is that resetting it always fixes the issue, although only temporarily. |
