| 1: Your modem is out of sync. By the looks of it you have the 3Mbps package (which is really 1.5Mbps package given your line attenuation). The proper sync rates should be 1792kbps for the download, and 448kbps on the upload. You can plug your modem into your home's NID, or wherever the demarcation point is between Verizon's copper network and your home's copper to see if the line is any better and can take more speed.
2: Comcast does offer better speeds than that.

how do i plug it into the nid? I opened it up and there was wires everywhere but i don't see a phone plug in there. |

If your home was built prior to mid 1980's and never updated or you live in an apartment building may not have a NID.

@verizon.net | I have a nid but its on the outside of my house. It only has one compartment and when I opened it there was a birds nest of wires but no test jack anywhere. |
