U-Verse really needs to go 3/1, 6/1, 12/2, 18/2 and 24/3 or 3/2, 6/2, 12/2.5, 18/2.5 and 24/3.5 |

1 edit | reply to StarFish267 I agree they need more upload then 2mb. I usally go for the fastest tier possible but for once Im actually happy at 18mb and I cant justify paying extra for a half meg increase in upload. |

 | reply to StarFish267 How much? |

 | reply to StarFish267 Ugh.... So basically I cant get it... please tell me if im wrong...
Because my max rate is 32268 kbs, and I am on the 25/2 profile.
I have internet only so my 32268 kbs would handle the 24mbps just fine, but I'm stuck to 18... because att allows overhead for tv.... which I don't have... I'm screwed lol.
And it seems pair bonding is pretty much never going to happen, so....
Is their any way I could ever get the 24mbps service...
On a side note Comcrap just flipped on its docsis 3 network in my town last night, but yet again they cap their service at 250gb, useless service to me. What is 50mbps to me if I could use my entire months service in less than half a day... Thanks comcrap...
Sorry yes I know im venting, but it seems this is the first time att u-verse will be providing new tiers to a privileged few whom have a better profile, Yes this happened in the past with the 19/2 profile and the 18mbps internet service... but the wide spread amount of people on the 25/2 profile that cant get this new service is well not good. |

 | reply to StarFish267 They really aren't going to add another tier are they? Doesn't AT&T think they have enough already?
And if they charge $65 for 18 Mbps. Figure $75 a month for this, that is just way to much to change per month for this. Verizon changes $65 a month for 25 down and 15 Up, Comcast is only $63 a month for 22 down and 5 up. They are only give 2 Mbps up when the profile is set to 5 Mbps, thats kinda pathetic in my book.
Unless they are advertising it as 2 but giving you 3 Mbps and the price is not $75 a month, they can forget about me upgrading.
And they better be upgrading to a N RG real soon. |

 | It's going to be 75$ --

 | Considering comcats 62.95 plan is faster (30/7)..... it needs to be $60, and max 18 needs to be $55, max $45-50 |

However, the prices will not be adjusted until the lower tiers from legacy SBC and legacy BellSouth become one. Legacy BellSouth rates are higher on the lower tiers, as well. I think Elite is like $45/month or something like that in legacy BellSouth land, versus $35/month in legacy SBC land |

I just laughed, because thats what I payed for dsl when I first got it in 2002 ish. Sad the big att is having a hard time becoming one big mess. |

No such thing that I am aware of...they have a 22\5 in docsis 3 areas. You may just be confused about their powerboost service on top of some other speed tier. I can do a speedtest and show 30\10, but I really have 16\2.
I would have to agree though that the 2mbps upload is weak if true. I hadn't heard anything about the upload on this tier yet. |
|
 | reply to StarFish267 So... can one assume that by then the 32 profile will be everywhere? I know they need to compete on speed and thats the one place they will have an issue with but it doesn't seem right to introduce a new tier with places not able to get it, like how I have a max sync almost double the 32 profile but I'm still at 25.
All of this is a philosophical question as I'm perfectly happy with 12 and somewhat okay with the price. |

 | reply to WhiteWizard I don't see how they can expect people to pay $75 a month for 24/2. This would be to compete with comcast, for $63 with then they give you 22/5. So you pay $12 more for only 2 Mbps faster download, but 3 Mbps slower upload.
How many of you would upgrade to this for $75 a month? |

| I dropped TWC last week and have U-Verse now. My Road Runner Turbo (22/2) bill in Austin was ~$65 and that was with all the taxes and charges. I have Max18. I feel there are too many U-Verse internet tiers and a new one should not be created. Instead, bump everyone's speeds. |

| reply to doublea w/o powerboost, it's more like 24.5/5. Thats what i get at least during a long download. I get 33/10 with powerboost though. Nice for uploading/download small files. | reply to StarFish267 I doubt you'll see the 18mb tier bumped to 24. You have to remember that a lot of folks are going to be limited to the 25mb profile because of distance. I'd love to get 24mb for the price of the current 18, but I don't see it happening. |
