 | Bell Canada Screws over 8-yr Old Kid for AC/DC Concert »www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/670887
Josh Bowman doesn't want to come across as a "problem child" but his bid to win a contest as AC/DC's biggest fan has become a "highway to hell."
The 8-year-old from Niagara Falls was one of three finalists chosen nationwide to compete in an online contest to become the Ultimate AC/DC Fan. The contest is sponsored by Bell/MSN Sympatico.
When voting began on July 8, Josh quickly took the lead and within two days had a 20 per cent lead over his nearest competitor.
But then someone at Bell decided to "reset" the vote counter, wiping out thousands of votes. [Snip]
Bell spokesperson Jacqueline Michelis defended the company's handling of the situation. [snip]
Without acknowledging that thousands of votes were nullified in the first two days of voting, Michelis repeated that the website's counter was "reset." [snip]
Bowman said she has no way of reaching the untold numbers of people who initially voted for her son.
"I'm not trying to teach my son he needs to win. If you asked him, he would say, 'You don't always win.' My issue is that you need to stand up when someone's not being fair to you," Bowman said. **************
Hmmm the mom says: "My issue is that you need to stand up when someone's not being fair to you"
This is the type of quality Canadians have come to expect of Bell Canada across all services (and now online contests that affect our children. Keep in mind Bell released a paper recently on how to exploit kids for cash.)
+1 Bell Canada. About time you teach kids what Bell is all about.
This will no doubt be a future TSI customer |

|
|
|
 | Well full name is there, and where they live.
TSI should call them up and offer free internet for a year Just so they can experience a non BS company for a year.
Word of mouth would pay itself off. |

+1 Bell Canada. About time you teach kids what Bell is all about.
They will learn all about Bell if they go on to business school. Bell is becoming a case study in how to take a once great company down through inept and corrupt governance.
Conrad Black would be proud George. |

When asked for a reaction to the allegations that Josh had been ripped off of thousands of votes, a Bell spokesperson said "on the positive side, it's a great contest and the prize is fantastic, it's a great prize and we certainly want to congratulate the contestants. They've done a great job producing the videos".
We're asking the CHEZ Nation to cast their votes for Josh to help him win! Click this link and visit the page before Sunday night at 11:59pm, and vote for Josh!

 | reply to dorks galore Guess they didn't read the terms and conditions?
The Contest is open to all individuals who (i) reside in the provinces and territories of Canada; and (ii) are at least 13 years of age or older as of the date of entering the Contest |
|
hmm @mc.videotron.ca | Bell chose him, seems it's on parents consent as well from what I read.
"It started out as fun and it's turned into chaos," says Lydia Bowman-Easton, 29, who entered her eight-year-old son Josh into an online contest sponsored by Sympatico/MSN for a Canadian fan to see all seven shows of AC/DC's upcoming Canadian tour.
After writing a short paragraph on why she thinks Josh is Canada's biggest AC/DC fan, she received a phone call from Sympatico informing her Josh was among the three finalists.
Also, the original TOS that was on the "original contest site" seems to be 404. |

 | reply to dorks galore I love the fact that Rogers Communications is calling "it's'" CHEZ Nation users to give bell the finger and vote for Josh.
Just love it. |
