The Windows Update service found in the Services snapin is no longer there. I was having a problem with Windows Update not running (and the service WAS there) but after running MGADiag (recommended by Microsoft) the Windows Update service is gone.
What do I need to do to get the WU service re-installed and running correctly?

Could be because the Beta has expired??? Try installing the RC or waiting a few more weeks/months for the RTM.

clubs: | See if there is a system restore from before the update and roll back... could be that one of the updates had some unintended issues.

There is no system restore as the system never made a restore point. I might have to repair/reinstall the OS on this partition, no big deal.
I'll keep playing with it and see if I can find a solution first.

Worked perfectly, thank you. Now that I am able to download/install Windows updates, I'm going to do it one-by-one and figure out which one killed WU previously.
