| Replacement Remote?
Two of my three remotes are not working. One does not work at all, the other, some of the buttons have stopped working. I tried changing the batteries. Will Fios replace them for free if I call or will they make me pay for them? Can I order replacements on their web site? I don't want to have to schedule a visit from them for a remote replacement. |

| reply to briansok I replaced one just last week.
Went on to chat here (»www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHel···ctus.htm) and got it in a few days. Did not have to send back old one or have a tech come out |

| reply to briansok briansok,
If they send you a new one, can you post the type and model number? I have tried to ask, but never find out if they are sending the latest model.
I have 3 of the older model of this one (»home.swbell.net/o1ooo1o/sling/fios.jpg) and it doesn't work with my TV (Olevia) and supposedly the new version does. |

1 edit | The newer Philips remotes have more codes pre-programmed. The old ones have a model number of: RC1445301/00B on a label inside the battery compartment. The newer ones are: RC1445302/00B.
I got FiOS about 1-1/2 years ago and got the older remotes. My daughter's FiOS was installed about 2 weeks before me and she got the later one - go figure.
Also, the remotes look physically the same except I think the later ones have a more "ivory" color cast to the buttons where the older ones are more white. -- Never raise your hands to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected. -- Red Buttons |

I asked Tech Support about this before they couldn't confirm which model is sent if you request a new one |

| reply to briansok The visual difference between the two Phillips remotes is the line between the play and the pause button.
The newer ones have the line and work on many combo (vcr-dvd) TV`s. Often ,the last code for a manufacture works for the Combo units.
If no code works, you can always use 955 to control the volume of the STB, just turn up the volume on the TV.
This link shows all 4 remotes they ever used: »www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHel···etUp.htm |

I wonder if that includes their 'retail kiosks' that I see listed on their site. There are a few of those around here - including one in Exton mall, about 5 minutes from me. |

They do not handle equipment returns or exchanges at the kiosk locations. You would have to go to one of the few retail store locations. |
